Stop Press for August 14th

August 15, 2008

  • Writing and You – SurveyShack.com Ltd – A survey for users of HarperCollins’ Authonomy, who, to judge by the choice of questions, are having a hard time tracking who thinks what is good on the site, or making the decision themselves…
  • Great Ideas – Penguin Books – Probably been around for ages, but I hadn’t seen this gorgeous minisite. I think the Great Ideas format – essays, long extracts, perhaps short stories too – would make an interesting little publisher on its own, but Penguin have done it too well already.

  1. Cheers for the link. Main reason for the authonomy survey is that all of us at the BETA community are dusting down our party frocks and getting ready to go meet our public (from Sept non members can read the books and access the new rankings system that’s about to be introduced). We want to get a snapshot of everyone as we currently stand – this is our community’s equivalent of a end of term group photo, and a bit of fun. It’s an author press interview, but with 1000 voices instead of one (like interviewing The Polyphonic Spree, then).
