Usually I fear the success of bands I have an affair with, not for the worry that no-one will recognise my true brilliance for spotting them early (for these things are just chance), but due to the fact I hate large audiences, leading to big stages, leading to all sorts of nonsense.
However Hurts seem like a band I’m happy to let go of my over-controlling and entirely self-perceived grip, as they look happier amongst the masses. And they do things like this.
I do wish I’d got off my arse and gone seen them live earlier though.
Yeah, they’re going to be huge, and I wish I’d seen them earlier too. But there is amusement to be had in the ads doing the rounds at the moment proclaiming them “the future of music” when they’re the biggest 80s-referencers to come along in some time.
